FAW Lubao CA6410 review by Top Gear

It's a....er...anyone read Chinese?

Oh, it's a MAESTRO!

Ooooh, er, hang on a minute, isn't it a Montego?

"Actually, it's both..."

"...like my Salfa Romeaab stretch limousine, it's two cars. Over there, it's a Maestro..."

"...and here at the front, it's a Montego"

Alloy wheels were optional; the first owner of this car specified three.

And when viewed from the side that has two, it's a sleek, modern, integrated design.

Improvements over the original Maestro dash include switches in the wrong colour and an oval blank where the steering wheel badge should be.

"The sun always shines on Maestro and Montego drivers, but unfortunately it means I'm too blind to find the sun visor"

"Now we're hidden behind this building, you can see the huge smile that Maestro driving induces"

"Argh, it's quick too! This one must be a Turbo"

"As you can see, the core design was so good the Chinese have pretty much left it alone. As you can see, not even the wingmirrors have been facelifted since 1982."

Integrated foglights are one of few things Austin Rover didn't get time for, but the Chinese have picked up their baton and just added those finishing touches."

"Wahey, it's brilliant! China, will you export them to the UK?"
